Do I need a Consultation or a Sports Massage?

If you've had pain in an area like a joint or muscle and it's getting worse/not going away you should book a consultation, if you just have soreness in your muscles form work or training then you should book a sports massage.

What happens in the Consultation?

You'll be asked questions about yourself, your injury, and general medical questions. Then we'll go though some physical tests and create a rehab plan to treat tour injury which will be emailed to you after the appointment.

Will I need a Follow Up after my Consultation?

Yes, you should book a follow up at the end of the consultation appointment for around1-2 weeks time to properly progress your rehab plan and maximise results.

Will I receive any hands on treatment during the Consultation or Follow Ups?

If appropriate and time allows during your appointment then you will receive hands on treatment in the form of sports massage, manual therapy etc.

How many appointments will I need for my injury?

The number of appointments varies massively and depends on factors such as: type of injury, severity of the injury, length of time from the onset of the injury, frequency of appointments, adherence to the rehab plan etc.

An estimated time scale can be given at the end of your appointment.

Do I need to be a sports person to get a Sports Massage?

Absolutely not, a sports massage will benefit anyone with sore/stiff muscles regardless of their sportiness.

Is there parking nearby?

There is a pay and display car park directly outside the clinic.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear something comfortable and if you're having assessment or treatment on your legs please wear shorts. In the interest of modesty, women getting a sports massage on their upper body should wear a regular bra, with a clip on the back.

What do I do when I arrive for my appointment?

The door will be unlocked, please enter and wait on the sofa to be called in for your appointment.

Will I be able to claim the treatment cost back via my health insurance?

It depends on your insurer. I am insured by BASRaT not HCPC so you will need to check with your health insurance provider beforehand. If you are covered then a PDF invoiced will be emailed to you after the appointment.
